T.Swift Kisses and Tells

Taylor Swift’s new album, ‘Speak Now’, was recently released and sold more than a million copies in it’s first week. However, this golden locked country pop star isn’t afraid to speak her mind through her music about her past relationships. Swift is quite candid in her album, with songs about her romances turned sour with John Mayer (‘Dear John’) and Taylor Lautner (‘Back to December’). She even expresses her feelings about Kanye West from the incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. To me, this seems sort of awkward, but Swift’s fans love it. However, men need to beware. If they date Taylor, they will more than likely have a song about them!

I have to give the girl some accolades because she can write, and it is really good. Some of her ex-boyfriends may not be too happy about what she has written about them, but when you are dating a singer/songwriter and you break her heart, then you can expect her next hit single to be about you cheating on her and making her cry herself to sleep. She writes from the heart, and isn’t true life what people want to hear about? She seems to jump around from guy to guy, but then again she is in her early 20s. To Kayne West, who ruined her night at the MTV music awards, you should be ashamed of yourself!

I think it’s natural for a singer who writes their own material to sing from their heart and that means from their own life experiences. Does Taylor go too far in with some songs? I don’t know. I know she also had a song about the Jonas brother she used to date and one about the girlfriend he had right after he broke up with her. That to me sounds just a tad bit bitter, but I do think she has talent and can not only write, but sing. I think I’d write about my ex’s too, but I don’t think I’d be so obvious or let the whole world know who it was about. It’d be hard to be a celeb and wear all that out in the open. Those moments can be personal and maybe there are some you just don’t want to share with the world.
